After a convenient pick up at yor hotel, we depart from Porto at 8:00 AM and head toward the town of Arouca, where we’ll make a brief stop for restrooms and coffee. Get ready for adventure!
A short drive later, we’ll arrive at the Paiva Walkways and cross one of the longest suspension bridges in the world — the incredible 516 Arouca. Stretching 516 meters (1,692 ft) across the valley and suspended 175 meters (576 ft) above the Paiva River, it offers breathtaking views and an unforgettable experience.
– Tickets are guaranteed, and we have an EXCLUSIVE TIME SLOT!
From there, you’ll begin the Paiva Walkways trail, heading downhill along a 5 km wooden boardwalk that zigzags along the left bank of the river — the stunning Areinho–Vau route.
After the walk, it’s time for another highlight of the day: lunch! A delicious local meal awaits you: roasted veal cooked in clay pots! (fish or vegetarian options available)
Refreshed and ready for more, we’ll enjoy a relaxing drive to Costa Nova, where you can take a quick power nap in the van if you wish. Costa Nova is one of Portugal’s most picturesque coastal villages, famous for its colorful striped houses and charming fishing heritage.
Next, we’ll continue to Aveiro, often called the “Portuguese Venice.” We’ll explore the city center on a short guided walk, followed by free time for you to wander, shop, or simply soak in the atmosphere. You may also choose to take an optional boat ride along the scenic canals for a unique perspective of the city.
We’ll finish our day with a comfortable trip back to Porto.

Tour Reviews
My wife and I have used tour guides in the past, although I appreciate putting together events on my own. However, I am overwhelmingly pleased with our experience with Norberto taking us to the walkways, Aviero, and surrounding areas. Our lunch in the small town nearby was amazing, and the cities we visited on the tour were exactly what we were looking for when we wanted to experience Portugal. While the tour itself was great, what made this tour perfect was Norberto and his passion for what does. My wife and I learned so much about Portugal, the people, history and awesome cuisine. But we also learned so much about Norberto, his own history, his family, and it all fit in so nicely with what we were learning about Portugal and its culture. He kept us engaged throughout the trip while on the road between stops, and this is what I found to be the most exciting and satisfying part of the trip. In another life, had we been born and raised in Portugal, I believe Norberto would have been counted amongst my few close friends, and am truly sad to have to leave him behind. A word of warning, the road to and from the walkways can put you ill from the car ride, but Norberto was very accommodating and offered several stops and other ways of addressing any carsickness…please do not let this stop you from experiencing this great tour.
On November 10, 2025, together with my two Romanian friends, I had an incredible day visiting the Arouca suspended bridge, the Paiva Walkways trail, Costa Nova and Aveiro, with a delicious lunch in Arouca. Everything was perfectly organized, and the views were absolutely stunning.
Our guide, Thomas, was FANTASTIC – friendly, full of knowledge, and always ready to share interesting stories and details. His energy and enthusiasm made the trip even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
I really recommend Ennetours!
Norberto from Ennetours is simply amazing and we could not have made a better choice when we visited Porto and northern Portugal. He really went out of his way to show us the best spots and locations and to find great little restaurants where we tried the amazing local cuisine. We initially booked just one day trip to Aveiro and the Paiva walkways but we were so satisfied with the experience that we also booked trips to Douro Valley and Geres National Park with Norberto. I really recommend Ennetours for those who really want a great experience in Porto and the surrounding areas!
