Norberto and this tour were AMAZING! The best we could’ve asked for and worth every penny. We were picked up in a timely and friendly manner the morning of the tour, and then had the most beautiful and educational drive through Douro Valley. The sights were beautiful, the wine was great, the boat tour was awesome. The next day, Norberto took us to Lisbon through Nazaré and Óbidos. All cities were amazing! Norberto was so knowledgeable about each of them, it was genuinely astounding. He is so well traveled and could tell stories for years. We felt by the end that he was a genuine friend. Highly recommend!

Throughout the planning process and the tours, we experienced expertise, courtesy, and quality service. He cleverly scheduled our activities so that we avoided most of the crowds and large tour groups. We were also grateful for his strategy of touring Bom Jesus do Monte by starting at the top and walking down rather than climbing up the 381-foot zig zag Baroque stairway. A few days later, Luis picked us up at our hotel in the Douro Valley to transfer us to Lisbon with stops in Nazaré and Óbidos. It was a long drive, but Luis made the trip a lot of fun for us and never rushed us during our stops. Everything about our tours was first class and exceeded our expectations! WOW! How do I give Norberto 10 stars!!!! Norberto is prompt, professional, VERY knowledgeable, engaging and fun. He treats you like family. We had a magical day in Douro Valley. He knows exactly where the most stunning views are and arranged a wine tasting at a traditional winery without tour buses and crowds. Top that off with a boat cruise down the valley and delicious lunch and you have the perfect day! When we ended our day, we felt like we were leaving a good friend behind. BRAVO, Norberto! Something a bit special!

This tour was the highlight of our holiday. Certainly one of them anyhow! The whole thing worked like clockwork, Norberto was there to collect us on time. Norberto is a clever chap so don’t just talk to him about the weather; be sure to use his knowledge.

During our drives from place-to-place Norberto gave us an insight into what it is like to live in Portugal, past through to present. Norberto’s company was a pleasure and by the end of the day we both agreed we’d happily talk to him forever.

The tour itself was relaxed, no rush. The wineries we visited were clearly expecting us and treated us as such, it was personal, warm and friendly each time. At each stop everyone involved had a great knowledge of their subject and happily answered any questions we had. The scenery was spectacular and Norberto told us about the micro climates that allow each valley to produce different products based upon their presenting climate.

We had a river tour with Douro Tours, along the river Douro, be sure to check out these guys. They made it fun and interesting. Be sure to get some of their locally made, not for market Port off them! Yummy!

Lastly, no British person leaves a review without talking about food. We dined at the second winery we visited. Everything was cooked on an open range, traditional Portuguese style, and my word can these guys cook! It was delicious! This was followed up by an opening of a vintage Port (the heating of the bottle neck and rapid cooling) it was spectacular!

Traumhafter Ausflug!
Im August dieses Jahres haben wir mit drei Erwachsenen und unserem 9-jährigen Sohn einen Ausflug ins Douro-Tal mit Norberto unternommen. Der Tag begann mit einer Wein- und Portwein-Verkostung, bei der uns die hohe Qualität der Weine begeistert hat. Norberto kümmerte sich stets aufmerksam um unsere Gruppe und organisierte sogar spontan eine kleine Mahlzeit, als unser Sohn Hunger bekam. Anschließend genossen wir eine wunderschöne Douro-Flussfahrt, die viel Freude bereitete. Den Tag rundete ein ausgezeichnetes Mittagessen ab, das Norberto sorgfältig ausgewählt hatte. Die gesamte Organisation und Kommunikation im Vorfeld waren einwandfrei und sehr professionell. Norberto nahm sich viel Zeit für uns und erklärte uns alles sehr verständlich. Wir können einen Ausflug mit ihm und seinem Team wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

We had a truly fantastic day with Norberto! He went out of his way to rearrange his schedule so he could personally guide us, which we greatly appreciated. He took us to some of the most beautiful and authentic spots in the Douro Valley—well off the typical tourist path and far from the big tour buses and crowds. Even the one-hour boat ride was a peaceful, crowd-free experience. We visited a charming winery and enjoyed lunch at another, where we had the unique opportunity to witness the opening of a reserved port—an unforgettable highlight. A day out in the Douro Valley!
We had a great day in the valley with amazing viewpoints, an interesting visit to a winery with wine tasting and delicious lunch.
We were a small group which was really nice. Our guide told us a lot about the region and Portugal in general.

We booked a private Douro Valley tour for 4 with Joao and could not have asked for a better experience! Booking was easy with fast commutations from Norberto. Joao picked us up and was an amazing, knowledgeable and personal tour guide. We learned so much about Portugal’s history and culture. He shuttled us around all day in a nice air conditioned van. The boat ride was awesome (we had a little boat all to ourselves!) and lunch was at this amazing private little winery (they were wonderful about working with dietary restrictions). We also toured a second winery, where the owner gave the tour himself, and it was both funny and informative. Joao then dropped us off at the train station. It was such an incredible experience. Highly recommended! Thank you so much, Joao! We all enjoyed ourselves so much (probably had 11-12 different kinds of wine)!

Norberto provided us (two couples) a wonderful one-day experience touring the Douro Valley. Despite the rain, he ensured we saw spectacular views of the valley and enjoyed the tastings at two wineries and a one-hour boat ride on the river. We were picked up at our hotel by an extremely welcoming and well-prepared guide, who gave us wonderful experiences during the day that we will never forget. Norberto arrived on time to pick up our group of eight travellers. Our tour included a wine and port tasting at Quinta Sears d’Ordens, many stops for spectacular, panoramic photo opportunities, a delicious lunch at S. Leonardo restaurant, and a boat tour on the Douro River. Throughout the entire tour, Norberto provided excellent commentary and was very attentive to our questions and queries. Norberto picked us up in Porto and took us on a day tour up the Douro Valley. It was a wonderful day and a perfect way to experience the area. We visited 2 small authentic villages with history and charm to spare. Norberto shared historical, local, and cultural insight. He picked a local restaurant for lunch with authentic Portuguese food. We were the only ones speaking English!!!!! He also chose 2 small family run wine and port Quintas to visit. They were excellent. And no tour buses in sight! Loved it

Norberto was right on time for our pickup. He was friendly and engaging. The sights and viewpoints in the Douro valley were amazing. The wineries were good and we learned a lot. Nortberto is very pleasant and was a nice person to spend the day around.

Norberto is a tour guide wizard. He dealt with all of our delays (wine country is tough to get through quickly or on time). He altered arrangements on the fly to get us to the next event and adapted to our groups flow. He picked excellent places. Norberto is so good at sensing how a group wants to move about and adapting his plan to that. And why is this? For example, he has knowledge on everything we saw but he is very aware of when his clients want to talk more or when to move on. Fun fact, the Best.

Norberto was even better than we could have hoped for! He was always responsive, making sure we were engaged and having a good time, dealing with things that came up, and having an extensive knowledge of all things Porto and Portugal. The best part of all is he is really funny and awesome to spend time with. We enjoyed our 5 days with him immensely and can’t wait to do it again!

Amazing tour through Douro valley!
We had one of the best experiences on our tour with Norberto through the Douro valley. He picked our group up from Porto then took us to this adorable town where he grew up called Amarante. They had some very interesting pastries there as well. Then we left to our first winery, a smaller one in the valley, where we got to taste 60 year old white port – seriously the best port I’ve ever had! Then we went to an authentic Portuguese lunch in a charming town, on to a gorgeous viewpoint, and river cruise. Last we went to one of the bigger wineries along the river which had it’s own orange and lemon trees that they let us taste from. Throughout Norberto was an amazing guide – answering all our questions and even providing his own dessert wine at the viewpoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would definitely book again if in this area again.

Magical Douro Valley Tour

We, four in a family, did the “Douro Valley Tour” with Ennetours and were guided by Norberto who is also the owner of the tour company. First off from the price to value perspective, there is nothing out there that gives you the value that this tour gives you. In Norberto, we not only found a efficient and knowledgeable guide but also a friend who goes above and beyond to make memories for you and make you happy.

Norberto has a beautiful and comfortable van which made our travel very smooth. All through the tour, Norberto kept us engaged with wonderful facts and stories of the area.
We first were taken to the beautiful town of Amarante, we toured the beautiful narrow streets, the cathedral and the surrounding area.

If I had to describe how paradise looks like, Douro valley would probably be something that would come to my mind. The lush green vineyards on the valley with the beautiful Douro river flowing through it is something that gets permanently etched in our mind. We were taken to the best spots and views to get some of the most awesome pictures we have ever taken.

We were then taken to a non-touristy restaurant, very well known to locals, where we had the best Portuguese meal in Portugal. It as sort of fine dining. I had the wood oven roasted lamb which just melted in my mouth while rest of the family’s dishes of Veal and Bacalao Braga was awesome. The meal came with delicious bread, appetizers and wine. Note that this was all included in the tour (WOW).

Next we went for wine tasting with also a tour of the winery called “Quinta do Tedo”. The wines were amazing and the person showing u was extremely humorous. Th view from there was to die for.
Lastly we went to the small own of Pinhao where we were given the historical railway station and the ties decorated on it.

I highly recommend this tour to everyone, we thank Norberto for the wonderful experience and will always remember you as the best tour guide (and a friend) we ever had.

Wonderful day!
Norberto loves his country and its culture. This passion showed in our day long tour of the Douro Valley from Porto. We covered a lot of ground but in a nicely paced and well narrated way. He stopped at all the best spots for photos, picked great local spots for tastings and made great recommendations for food.

Amazing!

We did 2 tours with Norberto – the Douro Valley day tour and 1/2 day to Aveiro & Costa Nova. The minute that we met Norberto, we felt that we had known him forever. He has a wonderful personality – warm, funny, very knowledgeable, relaxed and just happy to be with you. The trips with him were so enjoyable and it was good to get off the beaten track and see things from more of a local viewpoint. We hope to do more with sightseeing with him in the future.

wunderbare Tour durch Porto und das Dourotal!

Wir hatten mit Norberto eine Stadttour durch Porto, die uns die Stadt in ihrer Ursprünglichkeit gezeigt hat und wir waren sofort begeistert. Norberto ist ein wunderbarer Führer, der alle Details und Hintergründe kennt. Wir haben dadurch einen super Überblick über die Stadt gewonnen. Außerdem war die Kontaktaufnahme und auch die gesamte Kommunikation einfach und unkompliziert.
Wir hatten außerdem noch eine Tagestour ins Dourotal gebucht. Und auch diese Tour war wahnsinnig schön. Wir haben so viele Dinge gesehen und die Zeit verflog im Nu. Und dann noch das ausgezeichnete Essen!!!! Und erst der Portwein-Aperitif am Aussichtspunkt!

“50th birthday celebrations”
Travelled with a group of friends for a friend’s 50th. What an amazing, fun packed long weekend we had. Norbetto designed the best tour of Porto and beyond. The apartment we stayed in was amazing and clean (1851), though the staff could have been a bit more friendlier. That of course did not spoil our trip as we rarely spent time indoors. I’m Portuguese and my boyfriend Brazilian. I decided for my bf birthday i wanted to give him a taste of Portugal. We had an Amazing day in the Douro valley, Norberto took us to touristic and non touristic spots (that only insiders know), he gave us an overview of the History, economy and social aspects of Douro but always with a hint of fun and witty humour!!! Food was amazing (i’m a vegetarian) and the wine obviously even better!!
