In this tour, the walk difficulty level is easy/medium! You`ll walk only 5km and downstream!

Short description: You`ll go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk one of the most beautiful trails: The Paiva Walkways! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!

We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and coffee.

After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!

Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.

Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the left bank of the river. Trail Areinho-Vau.

The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)

After a power nap in the van, we`ll arrive to Costa Nova! Costa Nova is one of the highlights of Portugal – a beautiful fishing village known for its striped colorful houses!

Time to enjoy Aveiro, also known as the “Portuguese Venice”! Discover the city center on a short walk, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!

Finish the day back in Porto.

Great Tour
The tour was excellent, involving historical anecdotes, a friendly and hospitable tour guide (Mauro), and lots of good food and excellent company. A shout out to Mauro for being more than patient when I got lost during one of the stop offs. He was everything that a tour guide should be, and would not hesitate to use this company again, if I visit Porto in the future.

Fabulous
A fabulous trip. The challenge of walking the Arouca bridge is great even if you are scared of heights. The views there & on Paiva walkway are so worth it. You definitely need shoes with good grips. The traditional veal lunch was delicious. Getting to see the fishing village & the time in Aviero was nice & relaxing afterwards. Our guide Mauro was wonderful. If you want to get out of Porto for the day & see the surrounding area then this is for you

The day was excellent. A variety of activities and experiences. The Arouca 516 footbridge, river walk was beautiful, a shared traditional lunch were highlights. Our guide Joao was knowledgeable and provided interesting information about Portugal and our activities. Overall very enjoyable, thank you.

Mauro, our guide, was amazing – friendly, funny, professional and had lots of great information and stories to share. We loved the suspension bridge, Paiva walkways and the fishing village houses and Aveiro. More free time in Aveiro with the option to do the gondola might be better. Still, a great all day tour and I’m impressed with the tour company.

Our guide Maouro ( sorry if I spelt this wrong) was excellent, very easy to talk too and extremely entertaining and humorous ! He explained all the sights and rules etc and was helpful for any questions we had . The activities laid out were well planned and we enjoyed everything. What can be improved is the transport arrangement , it’s a van to seat 8 people excluding the driver , however 2 of the seats are next to the driver and the middle seat is only comfortable for a very slim person, not comfortable for long distances for an average to big built person. It’s quite cramped and not the best ride .
