Short description: You`ll go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk one of the most beautiful trails: The Paiva Walkways! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!

We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and coffee.

After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!

Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.

Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the left bank of the river. Trail Areinho-Vau.

The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)

After a power nap in the van, we`ll arrive to Costa Nova! Costa Nova is one of the highlights of Portugal – a beautiful fishing village known for its striped colorful houses!

Time to enjoy Aveiro, also known as the “Portuguese Venice”! Discover the city center on a short walk, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!

Finish the day back in Porto.

Es war alles sehr schön! Nur die Fahrweise fanden wir riskant- zuwenig Abstand von anderen Fahrzeugen, knappe Überholmanöver, zu schnelles Fahren.

Mauro our tour guide was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and shared so many interesting stories and facts about the cultural of Portugal. I had a really great time and the lunch at local restaurant was delicious too.

Excellent day trip! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The Arouca Bridge and the Paiva Walkways give access to the beautiful Paiva River valley and surrounding hills/mountains. A delicious lunch in Arouca was followed by a visit to the colorful houses in Costa Nova, a ride on the canals of Aveiro in a moliceiro (a colorfully painted gondola-style boat), and some time to explore Aveiro. Highly recommend.

It was a fantastic travelling experience. We had a great guide, Tomas, who was perfect with the schedule and made sure we had ample time to have a fullfilling experience at each of the destinations. He also has a pleasant attitude and actively talks about the history, culture and background about the places we visited and Portugal in general, which made the visits even more enriching. They had arranged a delicious lunch at Arouca involving local cuisine. Tomas was also great with my 8-year old daughter who enjoyed the trip a lot. Overall, i would strongly recommend this tour with these folks, either as solo travellers or with families, for those who love courtry-side, mountains, and culture.
